SOCIOECONOMIC IMPACT Guidance Manual for Addressing Socioeconomic-Related Issues and the Human Environment. Guidance manual for NJDOT practitioners on assessing
impacts to the human environment from agency-sponsored
projects. The manual includes key
descriptions of socioeconomic impact topics, methods, outreach processes and
data sources to assess socioeconomic
impacts of projects. Tools were
developed or revised for conducting field-investigation screenings and
documenting conclusions for Categorical Exclusion Documents (CED). Presentation of a chapter of the manual from recent workshop is provided.

Oneida Indian Nation's Land into Trust Application, Fiscal, Economic and Social Impacts - Fiscal, economic and social impact studies of placing up to 17,000 acres of land owned by the Oneida Indian Nation into a tribal trust as administered by the Bureau of Indian Affairs in central New York as part of a DEIS/FEIS. Extensive analysis of the tribal government and enterprises, including its casino and resort operations, and their impact on the regional economy and the advancement of tribal self-determination, self-sufficiency and economic development. Access to the Region's Core, Socioeconomics, Environmental Justice, Parklands, Indirect & Cumulative Effects - Prepared socioeconomic technical studies for the DEIS/FEIS to increase rail capacity into New York CIty via new rail tunnel, station and ancillary facilities. Analysis included GIS mapping to assess the socioeconomic effects of changes in travel-time savings and accessibility for environmental justice and indirect and cumulative effects chapters, among other studies. Developed transit-oriented land use and socioeconomic-related data for FTA New Starts Application.
